This new pen just arrived. I’ve got it inked up and will start using it this week and update this review with my feedback. I think we can all agree that the look of a pen is a key ingredient in the overall experience of using a fountain pen. The silver and black combination gives a business, yet classy look and feel. The cap fits on solid as well.
It’s mixture of engraved chrome barrel, lacquered metal, and polished chrome trim. It has a Chisel NIB. It’s 5.4 inches long with cap and has a nice smooth feeling when writing. I’ll have to look up what metal they used for the NIB.
Update 7-27. Well, so far the experience with the MonteVerde Jewelry has been incredibly reliable and a superb writing experience. No complaints about quality of the NIB and the flow of ink. I do tend to prefer refill using an ink well as opposed to inserting a disposable cartridge. Not only does it allow me to change colors more easily, I get much more control over the type of ink I use based on the type of paper I am writing on.
